Update: Long Beans

21 July 2011

The Long Beans sprouted and I blogged it in this post here.

21 September 2011

The below photos were taken.... after 2 months, the Long Beans plant has started flowering and producing.

How nice.

3 plants of Long Beans growing well on the metal trellis

Getting bushier everyday...... The young shoots are nice to be stir-fried or in Maggie Mee noodles

3 inches short of 2 feet!

The Long Beans had landed in my fried rice and a vegetable lasagna.

Visit to Passion Fruit Farm

We were at a day trip to Tanjung Sepat.  While visiting along the beach, there was a Passion Fruit Farm.  Sad it was not open due to it being a public holiday but we managed to get some photos.

Rows and rows of Passion Fruit plant

Finished Compost!

A few weeks ago, I checked my old kitchen wire Compost Bin to see if I have any finished compost at the bottom.

I scooped up the top part and transferred it to the other kitchen wire Compost Bin.  The bottom half was soft finished compost, except for a few hard pieces of scrap.

Papaya Tree

I have 3 accidental Papaya Trees that grew near the Compost Bin.  Just a few weeks ago, it started flowering.

I was overjoyed to see that one plant is female and the other is bisexual.  The 3rd plant has not flowered, so I don't know, yet.

Short Papaya Trees

I might get to eat some papaya fruit soon...

Actually, I have discovered that Papaya plants are one of the easiest to grow.  Its hardy and does not take much space.

I think I will continue to grow it.

Either accidentally or purposely.
